WHERE IN THE WORLD ARE WE? Churches and local communities in 21st century Britain
Guest Speaker: Ann Morisy
Churches are faced with contradictory messages: Government at local, regional and national level are keen for us to do more and more in our neighbourhoods; whilst other commentators are keen to depict churches and people of faith as an unhelpful hangover from days of yore.
How do we make sense of these opportunities and challenges? And how do we make sense of the growing amount of research that shows that ‘doing business with God’ is good for people, and for neighbourhoods? And importantly, how do we heed the caution in the Beatitudes that we should be wary when the world thinks well of us?
