Sheffield Faiths Forum is looking for faith members with good links within their communities, who want to bring the positive expertise, perspectives and experience of faith communities into decision making, planning and delivery in Sheffield. To hear about the work of the Faiths Forum over the last 12 months come along to Sheffield Faiths Forum Annual Review, 3 March 2011 at Sheffield Town Hall. There will be displays, case studies, reports on local areas and there will be the opportunity to meet and talk to people of different faith communities from across the city.

Over the past 3 years Sheffield Faiths Forum has identified and engaged with over 400 faith communities and organisations across the city. This report outlines the valuable work the Forum has achieved in bringing together different faiths to enable them to work together in new and significant ways; and to contribute and engage with the statutory, voluntary and local agencies.

The conference gave the opportunity to experience and reflect upon different ways of helping children and young people on their spiritual journey through life. Part of Spiritual England’s national campaign to bring stillness, peace and wonder into children’s lives at a time when concerns about their well-being are at an all time high.

This series of FREE courses was organised by Sheffield Faiths Forum and OFFER and ran for 8 sessions from 28 January to 18 March 2010. The courses were aimed at members of faith communities and anyone who wanted to become more informed about the decision making structures in the city and also who wanted to be more involved with shaping the future development of the city.

A one day conference was held on 20 January 2010 hosted by Sheffield Faiths Forum and SHEBEEN (Sheffield Black & Ethnic Minority Environmental Network) to discuss and explore the contribution of different faith communities to the issue of climate change. The conference was attended by members of local faith groups and environmental organisations. Workshops were held throughout the day.

Sheffield Faiths Forum is one of a number of partners helping to develop a Community Cohesion Strategy and Action Plan for the city. The Faiths Forum is keen to help individual faith groups and organisations take part in this process and highlight the ongoing work that faith groups across the city are involved in which helps to make Sheffield a more cohesive place to live.
