How do you contribute to community cohesion in Sheffield?

Sheffield Faiths Forum is one of a number of partners helping to develop a Community Cohesion Strategy and Action Plan for the city. The Faiths Forum is keen to help individual faith groups and organisations take part in this process and highlight the ongoing work that faith groups across the city are involved in which helps to make Sheffield a more cohesive place to live.

If you would like to share specific examples of activity that you are involved in then please contact Tim Wright on 0114 2536730 or email tim@offer.org.uk

Alongside this, Sheffield First is organising a consultation event on 17 July which faith groups can take part in:

Getting Along Together – What’s Your Strategy?

What are you doing to make sure that Sheffield is a city where everyone can get along?

Help us to find out on:

Thursday 17th July 2008, 10.00am – 3.00pm, City Centre Venue to be confirmed

We are looking for examples of things you do to:

  • Help young and old people understand each other better.
  • Reassure local people about their own safety.
  • Provide places where people from different backgrounds can spend time together.
  • Make sure that we accept people who are different from us.
  • Bust myths about the different communities in Sheffield.

If you do any of these or can bring other good examples of engaging Sheffield’s different communities we want to hear from you!

Please contact Nancy Hewitt at Sheffield First Partnership 0114 273 6318 or nancy.hewitt@sheffield.gov.uk by the 3rd July 2008
