At the beginning of June, OFFER heard that it has managed to secure resources to support the work of Sheffield Faiths Forum for the next 3 years (to 31 March 2011).
Funding has been agreed through the Change Up Improving Reach Fund, administered by Capacitybuilders. Over the course of the next 3 years, the Faiths Forum has agreed to work with key partners in the City to support:
- more faith groups to understand, engage with and influence decision-making in Sheffield
- the contribution of faith groups in local communities to be more effective by helping them to work together, and with statutory, voluntary and community organisations
- excluded communities to access capacity building resources and engage with mainstream service providers.
We are now working on developing a detailed work plan, reflecting these objectives and the priorities identified by local faith groups and our partners.
