Become a member of Sheffield Faiths Forum
Seats on the Faiths Forum are allocated across the faith traditions present in Sheffield (see the Background Information Sheet below). Volunteers from faith groups in Sheffield are invited to apply to take up a seat on the Forum for up to three years. Applications are assessed by the appropriate faith leaders and a multi-faith selection panel, and are evaluated against the published person specification. We are looking for volunteers who can link back to the whole of their faith communities, rather than ‘official representatives’, so that the Forum can listen to and speak with local neighbourhoods. Applicants will need to demonstrate that they are:
knowledgeable of their faith and influential within their faith community
committed to working with and respecting people of other faiths, and
engaged in the life of their city and able to contribute to its regeneration.
The last open recruitment round closed at the beginning of January 2007, however, if you are interested in becoming a member of the Faiths Forum, please contact Tim Wright who can advise on current and future vacancies - we are currently seeking members from the Sikh community and other faith groups in the city.

As part of the development of the Sheffield Faiths Forum we are keen to make contact with as many local faith groups as possible in order that we can engage with and support the full diversity of experiences and beliefs within the city.
